CHEKHOV'S GARDEN

Anton Chekhov was not only one of the greatest writers of all time, he was a champion of the natural world. He personally planted his very own "Cherry Orchard" along with over 120 other plants, 20+ varietals of roses, peaches, apples, almond trees, and healng herbs and flowers at his White Dacha in Ukraine. He wrote "The Cherry Orchard" there and hosted visitors such as Tchaikovsky, and I like think of his piano playing spilling over into the garden just as I like to think about Chekhov covered in dirt from the garden, planting seeds and trees, fixated on each new cultivar of rose.
